To address the challenges, a comprehensive analysis of critical points throughout the building was conducted. Milesight and its partner iComfort provided an energy efficiency solution to the theater.
The integration of Milesight's advanced sensor technology and the intelligent iComfort platform has transformed the historic Italian theater into a modern, energy-efficient facility. Committed to making sensing matter, Milesight sensors collect essential and valuable data such as environmental conditions, people flow data and more, transmitting this data to the Milesight gateway via LoRaWAN® technology. The iComfort platform processes these data, providing a centralized system for monitoring and managing various aspects of the theater's operations. Through real-time data collection and analysis, iComfort ensures that the theater's energy consumption is optimized, guest flows are efficiently managed, and the overall environment is safe and comfortable. The platform's ability to fuse data from multiple sources enables comprehensive insights, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Air Quality Monitoring
AM107 IAQ Sensors (Now they were upgraded to AM307 IAQ Sensors) were deployed to monitor air quality accurately including temperature, humidity, CO2, TVOC and more within the theater.
EM500-CO2 Outdoor Carbon Dioxide Sensor was positioned at the highest point of the theater to ensure optimal comfort for the audience.
EM300-TH Temperature and Humidity Sensor was installed outside to compare external and internal air quality, aiding in energy optimization through AI algorithms.
Wireless Solution Through Battery-Powered Sensors
Most of the sensors are battery-powered, offering a flexible and non-intrusive solution, overcoming cabling difficulties, outdated electrical systems, and operational constraints by eliminating the need for extensive wiring and power outlets.
Occupancy Monitoring and Smart Light Control
WS202 PIR & Light Sensors were placed in every balcony and bathroom to monitor occupancy and manage lighting effectively.
People Flow Management
VS132 People Counting Sensors (Now they were upgraded to VS133 People Counting Sensors), which is GDPR compliant, were strategically placed in critical areas such as the bar and entrance to monitor and control the flow of spectators. The data, available in real-time and historical formats via the iComfort platform, facilitates better management of guest movements.
Data Fusion for Enhanced Functionality
The iComfort platform integrates data from various sensors to generate useful insights for energy systems, building infrastructure monitoring (environment analytics), and people behavior (workplace analytics), ensuring savings and compliance with safety and security regulations.
Energy Management
The iComfort system monitors and manages energy usage across all theater areas, comparing it with wholesale prices for potential optimizations.
